VeloLiberty. Day Six. Busko-Zdrój — Kraków

Day Six. May 4, 2025
Busko-Zdrój — Kraków

Today's journey was about 80 km.
Part of the route was along the 11th European bike route, EuroVelo 11 — one of the longest bike routes in Europe, stretching from Nordkapp in Norway to Athens in Greece. Although not all sections of this route are well-marked and equipped, it offers a great opportunity to explore lesser-known corners of Poland, passing through quiet villages, forests, and spa towns like Busko-Zdrój.

Along the way, I contacted hotels and camping centers to inquire about where I could pitch my tent. In the end, AutoMobil Hotel in Kraków kindly allowed me to set up camp on their premises. This is an interesting experiment: trying to find accommodation with minimal expenses. I have to say that it's not that difficult if you're flexible and willing to adapt to local conditions.

The experiment I'm conducting is interesting not only from a budget travel perspective but also from a practical one — is it possible to find places to stay in hotels with minimal resources while cycling from Poland to Portugal? So far, the answer is quite positive. Hotels and campsites are, in most cases, willing to help travelers.
